Optional Hike on Friday “Drive Up Day”.


We will drive up on Friday October 18, 2019. If doing the Optional Hike on Friday you must be at the hotel in Owen Sound by 1:00PM.
Accommodations and dinners TO BE determined.

From 9th  Ave E at Superior Street 86.2 km (90.1) to Jones Falls/Merle Gunby Side Trail101.3km (105.3)

Note: there may be an option to do a shorter hike on Saturday. Please discuss this with hike leader as early as possible.

Saturday OCT 19, 2019 From Jones  Falls/Merie Gunby Side Trail 101.3km  (105.3) to The Gap Access Trail at end of Concession 14 121.6 km (125.5)

Sun. Oct. 20

Sunday Oct 20,2019 From Sideroad 22 near 6th Concession 68.9 km(69.2) to 9th  Ave E at Superior Street 86.2 km (90.1)

Event Start Time 8:00 am @ hotel, check in 15 mins prior for hike instructions

Distance  37.9 km approx. 52.0 km with optional Friday hike
Pace ~ 3 km/hr
Duration ~ 5 - 6 hrs/day - 4 hours on Friday
Costs
Money is Required For: Accommodations,
carpooling donation (drive to Owen Sound and daily to trail heads) $TBD, dinners out
Required Items to Bring Snacks, water, food for breakfasts/packed lunches, hiking boots, pole(s)
Recommended to Bring Gear for inclement weather, bug spray, mosquito head net, suntan lotion
Current Conditions  Participants Should Be Prepared For:
rough terrain and possible rain/mud
Important Note: Have you completed a challenging hike such as the Fanshawe Lake Trail or the Maitland Trail offered earlier this year? We strongly encourage you to complete one or more of these hikes to ensure your conditioning prior to attending the Bruce Trail hikes.

Registration cancellations will be accepted. If you are sharing a room with someone, you must compensate or find another roommate to replace you. Also, you must contact the leader by phone or email as soon as you cancel as well as your roommate if you have one.
