All who wish to participate in this event must pre-register by 11:59 pm the day before the event. If you find you are unable to attend, kindly cancel your registration.

If you are a non-member wishing to participate, you must first join the Lambton Outdoor Club, which includes completing the membership waiver. A one month free trial membership is available for first time participants. Having enjoyed an outing or two, we hope you'll join our wonderful club following your free membership. The annual single membership fee is $25.

While participating, be respectful of other member's health management decisions and protective steps, and please stay home if feeling unwell.

Event Description

Fanshawe Lake Trails/ Fanshawe Conservation Area

A 20 km loop trail travelling around Fanshawe Reservoir. Spectacular views, all kinds of wildlife and a variety of terrain.

Trail is open to cyclists who travel counter-clockwise on odd numbered dates.

The hydroelectric plant at the base of Fanshawe Dam generates enough power to run 300 households.

This is a one of the Conditioning Hikes required for anyone going on the Bruce Trail Hikes and for all members. It is recommended that you wear the boots and bring the backpack you will be taking on the Bruce Trail.


Event Start Time Arrive at 8:45 am, hike starts at 9:00 am

Parking info: The Park is officially open on May 1. We can park in the Day Use parking lot. After going through the gate, drive over the dam to the Day Use parking beside the washrooms at the Kinsmen Picnic Area which is near the Pioneer Village and the Children's Safety Village. Please check the map on the website or pick up a map at the gate. There is a $10 charge per car , so carpooling is recommended.
